Amber Lovatos, RDH, BSDH, has been compassionately blazing trails personally and professionally for more than 10 years. As a clinician, educator, author, and champion for public health issues, she inspires industry colleagues with unique stories that include triumph over abuse and discovering her identity as “The Latina RDH.” Celebrated as her family’s first college graduate, Amber holds a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from The University of Texas School of Dentistry She now hosts A Cuento De Dos Higienistas podcast. Amber is recipient of numerous national and state awards and academic scholarships including being named 2021’s Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Six Dental Hygienists You Want to Know & 2022 Sunstar Award of Distinction recipient. Amber is the co-author of Smiles Por Vida a Spanish & Spanglish not for profit children’s dental book. Amber also has a monthly column with RDH Magazine. A powerful speaker and advocate, Amber is one of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association’s powerhouse allies for underserved populations. Her leadership has included the influence of oral health public policy in her home state and beyond as she motivates and empowers clinicians through presentations of perseverance and resilience. Amber is also the founder of Latin RDH, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the Latin dental hygiene community.
Erika Spring is a clinical dental hygienist by heart and has served her profession in various roles over the last 30 years. Currently serving Zyris Inc. in Community & Education, Erika remains true to her love of Dental Hygiene as an SDA Trainer for EMS providing both didactic and hands-on training courses across the country. She has further adapted and implemented the GBT curriculum into the dental hygiene program at Coastal Carolina Community College.
Erika is an alumni of Coastal Carolina Community College, receiving her undergraduate degree and setting the stage for a passionate career in dental hygiene. It was not long before Erika pursued higher education, receiving a Bachelors’ degree in Dental Hygiene and concluding with a Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. With an interest in helping dental teams and students dig beyond their clinical skills, she became a certified DISC Behavioral Consultant. Her love for education, innovation and her natural leadership abilities have allowed her to take transformative approaches in her career through clinical patient care, as a full-time educator, and through Spring Innovative, her cultivating consulting platform. Erika’s mission is to educate tomorrow’s hygienists through today’s innovations, and reshape the future of dentistry.
